Delete your SAYA account

Note: This English version is provided for convenience. The German version is legally binding.

This page explains how to delete your account for the SAYA — Sleep Analytics app (com.saya.sleep) and what happens to your data. Full details are in the App Privacy Policy.

Option 1 — Delete in the app

  1. Open SAYA and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Delete account.
  3. Confirm the prompt.

Your account and data are deleted immediately. This cannot be undone.

Option 2 — Delete by email

If you no longer have access to the app, send an informal request from the email address of your SAYA account to l.broell@freenet.de. We will delete the account and confirm by email, normally within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Everything we store about you is removed:

  • Your account (email address and sign-in method)
  • Health and fitness data imported from Garmin — heart rate, HRV, sleep, stress, activities, steps
  • Your own entries — meals, wind-down activities, sleep environment
  • All values calculated from these — recovery scores, sleep profile, correlations
  • Your Garmin connection (access tokens are revoked)

What is not deleted

  • Data in your Garmin account. That is managed by Garmin, not by us. To delete it, use your Garmin account.
  • Records we must keep by law (e.g. accounting records), where such an obligation applies. These are blocked from any further use and deleted when the retention period ends.

Retention period

Account and health data are deleted immediately when you delete your account. Backups containing the data are overwritten within 30 days.

Delete health data only, keep your account

You can have the imported health data deleted without giving up your account:

  1. Open SAYA and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Disconnect Garmin.
  3. Choose "Delete it too" when prompted.

This deletes all health and fitness data imported from Garmin — heart rate, HRV, sleep, stress, activities, steps — and everything calculated from it. Your account, your email address and your own entries are kept. Backups are overwritten within 30 days here as well.

If you choose "Keep my history" instead, your existing history stays, but no new data flows in.

Automatic deletion when inactive

If you do not use SAYA for 24 months, your account and all associated data are deleted automatically. We notify you by email 30 days beforehand — opening the app once is enough to keep everything.
